Let me tell you the inspiring story of our hero Dr. Scrape. His saga began with a Hotwheels replica of James Bond’s 1964 Aston Martin DB5. He was only 11 years old. Before he was known as Dr. Scrape, he was just Andy. Unfortunately, Andy was too inexperienced to realize he put his trust in the wrong person. He lent his beloved Hotwheel to his younger brother and guess what happened? An ill-advised “Dukes of Hazard” style jump left the car Scraped beyond repair. Andy was devastated, but from devastation would grow his obsession and soon… his inspiration.
Fast-forward 9 years. Our champion bought his very first car, a 1979 Mustang Turbo Hatchback. It was the only year Mustang ever made a turbo engine…and though it was an older car, it was perfect. Perfect until he parked the unique 2-door Mustang at the wrong movie theater. Andy walked out of “Die Hard” feeling empowered until he reached the passenger door. He wanted to open the door for his date because that’s the kind of man he is, but alas there was a Scrape. This was no ordinary Scrape. Someone had keyed his door from the handle to the hatchback. “What kind of man messes with another man’s automobile?” He would later refer to this as his “Pulp Fiction” moment.
The final straw was when Andy bought his dream car, a Porsche Twin Turbo. As you can imagine, this was no ordinary purchase. At $100 K it was worth every penny. His plan was to head straight to meet his brother for lunch. Unfortunately, the entrance to the restaurant was a sharp incline and when he turned into the driveway he heard the sound. You know the sound of which I speak. The new Porsche bottomed out and the front bumper was Scraped to hell. Dr. Scrape was born.
No more would men who loved their cars be unprotected from Scrapes. In that moment Dr. Scrape conceived of the invention that would change lives forever. He calls it the Sliplo Bumper Chin Guard. He wanted to protect his and your car with a product that was versatile, quick and inexpensive to install.
